Free, 72 hours, nothing changed
A free Google Ads check for Birmingham businesses
Back in writing within 72 hours.
Give us your ten-digit Google Ads customer ID and approve a read-only access request, and within 72 hours you get a short written note answering six questions about the account: how much of last month went on searches that could not have bought from you, whether negatives exist, whether calls and forms are counted, how fast the landing page is on a phone, which ad assets are missing, and whether the budget can buy enough clicks to learn anything. Nothing in the account is touched. It is read by Daniel Stoychev, not by a script.
- Read-only access, revoked when you like
- A person reads it, a person writes back
- No sales call unless you ask for one

The six checks
What the note answers, and why each one matters in Birmingham
Each is a question with a number or a yes beside it. Together they are the difference between an account that is being managed and one that is merely running.
- 1
Search terms waste
The share of last month's spend on searches that could never have bought from you. In a city with five universities and a large jobs market, "course", "apprenticeship" and "salary" attach themselves to almost every trade's keywords.
- 2
Negative keyword gaps
Whether a shared negative list exists at all, and whether it carries the obvious ones for your sector and the West Midlands towns you do not serve.
- 3
Conversion tracking
Whether calls and forms are counted, whether anything is counted twice, and whether a page view is being reported as an enquiry. An account that cannot see enquiries cannot bid for them.
- 4
Landing page speed and form
The page loaded on a phone over a throttled connection: seconds until it is usable, whether the form submits, whether the number is a tap-to-call link.
- 5
Ad assets
Call, location, sitelink and callout assets present or missing. They are free space in the auction and they lift click-through rate, which feeds Quality Score, which lowers what you pay per click.
- 6
Budget against cost per click
Whether the daily budget can buy enough clicks for the campaign to learn anything, or whether it runs out by lunchtime while the phone is still being answered.
What it does not do
The line between the free check and the £150 audit
The check answers six questions from last month's data. It does not read ninety days, it does not judge the bid strategy or the campaign structure, it does not review the ad copy, and it does not do the sums that turn a cost per click into a return on spend. Those take the best part of a day and they are the paid audit, which comes back as a document with a change list and is credited against the £199 setup if you go on to a monthly plan.
The honest way to think about it: the check tells you whether something is wrong, the audit tells you what to do about it in what order, and the monthly plan does it.
Who it is for
Any Birmingham account that is spending, whoever runs it
- You run the account yourself and have never had anyone else look at it
- An agency runs it and the monthly report is a screenshot of impressions
- Cost per enquiry has risen since spring and nobody can say why
- You are about to spend more and want to know what the current budget is leaking first
- You are choosing between agencies and want a neutral read before you decide
Not spending yet? The check has nothing to read. Start with the quote form instead, or test the page your ads would land on with the tool on the home page.
How it runs
Four steps, and the only one that needs you is the first
- 1.
You send the form with the customer ID. Name, business, email, phone, the ID, and the address of the page your ads land on if you know it.
- 2.
A read-only access request arrives in the account's inbox. You approve it. Read-only means we can see everything and change nothing; you can remove it whenever you like.
- 3.
Daniel Stoychev reads the account and writes the note. Six findings, a figure or a yes beside each, and one sentence on what we would do next and what it would cost.
- 4.
You decide. Do it yourself with the note, ask for the audit, ask for the monthly plan, or do nothing. We do not ring unless you ask.

Questions about the free check
Is the free Google Ads check really free?
Yes. No card, no trial, no fee later. It exists because most Birmingham businesses have never had anyone outside their agency look at the account, and because a check that finds nothing wrong is a quick way for us both to stop wasting time.
What do you need from me?
Your ten-digit Google Ads customer ID, which is at the top right of the account, and your approval of a read-only access request that arrives at the email on the account. Nothing else, and we cannot change anything with read-only access.
How long does it take?
72 hours from the moment access is granted, in office hours. A request sent on Friday afternoon is back by Wednesday at the latest, usually sooner.
Will you try to sell me something?
The note ends with one sentence about what we would do next and what it would cost, using the fees on the pricing page. That is the whole sales effort. If the account is in good shape, the sentence says so and we do not ring.
Can I get the free check if a Birmingham agency runs the account?
Yes, as long as the account is in your name or you can grant access to it. If the agency holds it inside its own manager account and will not give you access, that is itself the first finding, and the note says what to do about it.
What does the check not cover?
Anything that needs ninety days of data or a judgement about strategy: bid strategy choice, campaign structure, ad copy quality, Performance Max asset groups, Microsoft Ads, and the sums that turn cost per click into return on spend. Those are the £150 audit, which is the long version and is credited against setup.
Nothing to lose but seventy-two hours.
