The monthly service

Google Ads management in Birmingham

One person, one flat fee, your account

Google Ads management for a Birmingham business costs from £249 a month here, set by your spend band, with a 3-month minimum and then monthly. The fee buys a person rather than a process: Daniel Stoychev builds the account, reads what people typed before they clicked every week, keeps the calls and forms counted, moves the budget to the hours and postcodes that produce enquiries, and writes to you at the end of every month. The account is yours and the ad spend never touches us.

We have no office in Birmingham. The account is run from Wrexham, 82 miles and about 1 hour 41 minutes away by road, and visits are by appointment.

The short answer

Who actually runs a Birmingham Google Ads account here?

Daniel Stoychev does, from the first read of the account to the last line of the monthly report. He is a developer as well as a PPC manager, so the tracking code, the landing page and the campaign are one job rather than three departments. There is no account manager, no junior who inherits the account after the sales call, and no team in another time zone. When you phone the number on this page, the person who picks up is the person with your search terms report open.

That is also the honest answer to why there is no Birmingham office. An account is run on a screen, and the things a client actually needs, a change made today, a straight answer about what a search cost, a report written by the person who did the work, do not depend on a postcode. What we cannot offer is a meeting room on Colmore Row. What we can offer is a visit by appointment and a video call whenever you want one.

Birmingham specifics

Five settings that are wrong on most West Midlands accounts we read

None of these is clever. Each one leaks money quietly in a city where the wrong radius or the wrong hour buys a click from someone who was never going to call.

The location option
Google's default shows ads to anyone who has shown interest in Birmingham, including people abroad researching a visit. We set it to people physically in the target area. It is the first thing checked on every account and it is wrong on most.
The radius
Birmingham, Solihull, Sutton Coldfield and the Black Country are one continuous built-up area and a single twenty-mile circle treats them as one market. A Kings Heath restaurant wants two miles; a Tyseley fabricator wants the whole region and beyond. The radius, or the postcode district list, is drawn from where your customers actually come from.
Place-name negatives
A search containing Wolverhampton, Coventry or Redditch is a wasted click for a business that does not go there. Every account carries a shared negative list of the West Midlands towns outside your patch, added to weekly from what people typed.
The ad schedule
An emergency plumber who answers at midnight should be bidding at midnight; a solicitor whose reception closes at 5:30 should not be paying for clicks at 9pm that reach voicemail. The schedule follows who answers, and the report shows enquiries by hour so it is corrected from data.
The Clean Air Zone
Since June 2021 the city centre has charged non-compliant vehicles. For garages that means a real stream of compliance and retrofit searches; for trades it means a reason to price city-centre jobs differently and, sometimes, to exclude the zone from a campaign.

Every week

What happens in the account between reports

Once a week the search terms report is read line by line: every search that spent money in the last seven days, sorted by cost. The ones that could never have bought from you, the jobs, the courses, the DIY questions, the towns you do not cover, go into a negative list the same day. Close variants let new searches in constantly, so the read is never finished.

The same sitting covers the conversion actions, to catch a form that stopped submitting after a website update or a call action that started counting five-second misdials; the budgets, to see whether impression share is being lost to budget or to rank; and Google's recommendations, which are read and mostly declined, because they are written to increase spend rather than enquiries. Any change we make is in the account's change history under our name, where you can read it.

Every month

A report you can argue with

At month end you get two pages, written by the person who did the work. It leads with money: what was spent, how many enquiries it produced, what each cost, and where the spend went by campaign and by postcode area. It lists what changed and the search terms or numbers that caused each change. It lists what Google suggested and we refused. And it ends with one thing for next month and the number it is meant to move.

One line in it comes from you: which of the enquiries became customers, and roughly what they were worth. That line turns cost per enquiry into return on spend, and without it the report says, in so many words, that it is incomplete.

To start

What we need from you, and nothing else

  • Access to the Google Ads account through a manager request you approve, or a Google account we can build a new one on
  • A way to add a small tracking snippet to your website, or access to your tag manager
  • The area you actually serve, in postcodes or towns, and the hours somebody answers the phone
  • Roughly what an enquiry or a sale is worth to you, so the report can do the sum
  • Your ten-digit customer ID if you already advertise, for the free check before we quote
  • One person who can approve ads and answer a question inside a working day

Questions about the management service

How much does Google Ads management cost for a Birmingham business?

£249 a month when you spend up to £1,000 on ads, £399 up to £3,000, £599 up to £8,000. Building or rebuilding the account is £199 once. The fee is flat, so it does not rise because we suggested a bigger budget, and the ad spend goes to Google on your own card.

Will you take over an account another Birmingham agency set up?

Yes, and we would rather inherit it than start again if the structure is sound. You grant access through a manager account request, we read ninety days of search terms and the change history, and the first fortnight goes on the waste and the tracking before anything that works is touched. If the account is in the old agency's manager account rather than yours, getting it into your name comes first.

Do you write the ads?

We write them and you approve them. Responsive search ads need up to fifteen headlines and four descriptions per ad group, and each one names the search, the offer and a reason to choose you over the next Birmingham result. Claims that need a source, a price or a regulatory line are pinned so Google cannot drop them.

Can you track phone calls from the ads?

Yes, two ways. Call assets put a tap-to-call button beside the ad on a phone and Google reports the call. On the landing page a forwarding number swaps in for visitors who came from an ad, so the call is attributed to the search that produced it. Calls under a minute are not counted as enquiries, because counting misdials teaches the bidding to buy more of them.

What is the minimum ad spend?

There is no minimum from us, and the Starter tier exists for budgets under £1,000 a month. The practical floor is set by your sector's cost per click: an account needs enough clicks a month to learn anything, and at £8 a click a few hundred pounds buys too few. The free check or the quote reply tells you where that floor sits for your searches.

Who owns the account and the data?

You do, on your own Google account, with your card on the billing. We are linked as a manager and you can remove that link in one click. If you leave, every campaign, keyword, negative list, ad and conversion action stays exactly where it is.

What happens if I want to leave?

After the 3-month minimum it runs month to month and you give a month's notice. The final report says what state the account is in and what we would do next, and it is written for whoever takes over.

Are you a Google Partner?

No badge is shown on this site, and none will be shown that has not been earned. The Partner badge is awarded for spend across an agency's accounts and for staff certifications; it says nothing about whether a £1,200-a-month account gets read every week, which is the thing that decides your cost per enquiry.

Do you need to visit us in Birmingham to start?

No. Setup needs access to the account, the website and the analytics property, and a call to agree the structure. We are 82 miles away in Wrexham and come by appointment when a visit genuinely helps; most clients never need one.

What do you refuse to do on a Birmingham account?

Leave auto-apply recommendations on, run Performance Max as the only campaign, use the location option that includes people merely interested in Birmingham, bid on your own name by default, or report clicks as results. Each is a common finding when we read an account for the first time.

Send your spend and your sector. The fee and the first three changes come back within a working day.

If you already advertise, add the customer ID and the reply includes the free 72-hour check. One client per sector in Birmingham on the monthly plans, and the reply says whether yours is still open.
