A Birmingham question
Do I need a PPC agency in Birmingham, or can it be run remotely?
A Google Ads account is run on a screen, so it can be run from anywhere the person with the screen reads it every week and answers the phone; where the agency sits makes no difference to the account. What a Birmingham office genuinely offers is a meeting room and a shorter drive; what it usually costs is rent paid by the clients and an account manager between you and the person doing the work.

What a local office actually provides
A place to meet, which matters to some businesses and not at all to most. A sense that the agency knows the city, which is real when the person running your account has walked down your high street and imaginary when the office is a plaque and the account is run from another region anyway. Several agencies targeting Birmingham print a city address they do not occupy, and one we read on 5 September 2026 carries a different city's address in the code of its Birmingham page. A local address is a claim, and claims can be checked in Street View.
What remote management provides instead
Directness. Here the person who built the account is the person who reads it, changes it and answers the phone, from Wrexham, 82 miles away. A change you ask for is made the same day, because there is no account manager to relay it and no Tuesday meeting to wait for. A video call is available whenever you want one and a visit is by appointment. And the fee does not carry city-centre rent, which is part of why it runs from £249 rather than the four figures Birmingham agencies start at when they publish a figure at all.
What actually needs local knowledge
The radius, the place names, the seasons and the hours. Whether a Kings Heath café wants a mile or the whole city; that a search containing Wolverhampton is wasted for a Solihull garage; that the Frankfurt Christmas Market changes what a city-centre venue should bid on in November; that Villa Park matchdays move where people are standing. None of that requires an office. It requires the person running the account to have learned it, and to draw the patch from where your customers actually come from rather than from a map. The sector pages on this site are where that knowledge is written down.
How to tell the two apart
Ask any agency where the person who will read your search terms report sits, by name. If the answer is a Birmingham address, put it into Street View. If the answer is another town and the agency says so plainly, you have found an honest one, whichever you then choose. The question to avoid is "do you have a Birmingham office", because the answer is easy to fake; the question to ask is "who opens my account on a Monday, and where are they".
When you should insist on local
If you want a person in the room monthly, or your board does, choose an agency with a real office and pay for it knowingly. If you want a shop or a showroom walked round before the ads are written, ask for a visit; we do those by appointment. For everything else, the account does not know where the screen is.

People then ask
- Will you visit us in Birmingham?
- By appointment, when a visit genuinely helps: the start of a larger account, a walk round premises the ads describe, a meeting with a board. Most clients never need one. The drive is 82 miles.
- Do you have a Birmingham phone number?
- No. The number on this site is a mobile answered in Wrexham by the person who runs the accounts. If a Birmingham number is ever added, the page will say where it rings.
- Does Google favour agencies in the same city as the client?
- No. Google Ads has no idea where the agency is, only where the searchers are and where the ads are targeted.
